In other genres, you put three superstar vocalists together, and each one will try to shout the others down. Not so with bluegrass. James King, Dudley Connell, and Don Rigsby each front their own bands. Yet, as part of the supergroup, Longview, they cooperate instead of competing.

The result is an expert vocal blend in which, funny enough, you can pick out each individual voice, even though no one dominates the mix. That’s musicianship and musicality, folks. That’s bluegrass.

And this is Longview, with a modern classic – a bluegrass gospel number written by two other great bluegrass vocalists, Vern and Ray – “The Touch of God’s Hand”.
