When Dinosaurs Rocked the Earth

I guess you have to be something of a dinosaur like me to have this feeling – “Lord, have mercy, somebody finally uploaded (song you would have on constant repeat if it were available on iTunes)".

Anyway, somebody finally uploaded this one. Back in the day, it was one of those songs you waited to hear on the radio when DJs were busy playing … “Stranglehold” or something.

Whatever it was, it wasn’t this.

I mean, Sgt. Pepper was cute, but this is how rock ‘n roll is supposed to sound. Anyone who’s made a study of the first two records by Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers knows what a profound influence this record, from their label mates, had on them.

Naturally, this was the only hit Dwight Twilley ever had. Sometimes, somebody makes a record so incandescent that nothing can top it.

This is The Dwight Twilley Band with “I’m On Fire”.
