Ah, the house band for Stax Records, the southern blues and soul label where the hots were hotter, and the cools, like this one, were waaay cooler.

If Motown was primarily cheerleaders, jocks, and student government types, Stax-Volt was artists and hipsters. It was also integrated, from the corner office on down to the house band – in 1960s Memphis, TN!
