Swinging For the Fences

“It don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing”. Not a rule normally associated with bluegrass, but it should be. Just listen to how hard Monroe and his band from 1941 are swinging on this one; it’s like a master class on bluegrass timing.

It’s funny: So much is made of Monroe’s 1946 band that nobody remembers that he and his musicians were geniuses way before that.
